Managing SharePoint private clouds

Azaleos has introduced two new services designed for organizations deploying SharePoint 2010 in private cloud environments: SharePoint Starter Edition and SharePoint Core Edition. According to Azaleos, each provides “drop and go” managed SharePoint outsourcing alternatives to the existing Azaleos SharePoint Premier Edition.

Starter Edition is designed for departmental rollouts or pilots within an enterprise and is claimed to enable SharePoint deployments that require only minimal care and feeding. The managed service combines deployment with basic monitoring, management and support for SharePoint infrastructures in a private cloud, at a third-party datacenter or on the customer premises, says Azaleos.

Core Edition has been engineered for midsize to large enterprises deploying a new SharePoint infrastructure for the first time. Azaleos says it provides full monitoring and management with a fixed set of functionality.
