JVC Professional Unveils CD-ROM Libraries

A pair of CD-ROM libraries have been unveiled by JVC Professional (Cypress, CA). The BC-MC-1110-AI library, designed for LAN users, stores up to 65 GB with a 100-disc capacity. It offers two 50-disc removable magazines, one CD-ROM drive and a SCSI-2 interface. It has a data transfer rate of 1.2 MB per second. The library comes bundled with

iXOS Software's (San Mateo) Jukeman software, and sells for $8,995. JVC has also introduced the MC-Printer Model 200 library system, which offers data storage, disc duplication and label printing. This library has six internal drive bays, and four removable 50-disc magazines that can store 130 GB. Data transfer rates and access times vary depending on the media used (CD-ROM, CD-R or DVD-ROM), but in general are comparable with MO storage devices. Pricing for the Model 200 begins at $16,395; an optional label printer is available for $4,000.
