AIIM show features new products

Maxoptix (Fremont, CA, http://www.maxoptix.com

) chose AIIM '97 (April 14-17, New York) to unveil its 52-GB and 104-GB MO jukeboxes with 2-second load times, a 2.6-GB drive with the industry's fastest RPM (3,868) and--new for SOHOs and desktop environments--a 640-MB ISO-standard 3.5-in. MO drive.

Optical Image Technology (State College, PA, http://www.opticaltech.com) demonstrated InfoVIEW SQL, an enhanced data mining module, at the AIIM ' 97 show and conference. InfoVIEW SQL enables users to form customized reports using the information of large reports that can span multiple data servers. It also features color coded results, multiple fonts and start and end dates for a custom report.

ATG Cygnet--the French firm that should not be confused with Cygnet Storage Solutions in San Jose--introduced "the world's fastest- and highest-capacity optical disk drive." The new VFD 16000 is a 12-in. WORM optical disk drive designed for OEMs and resellers. The VFD 16000 features 16 GBs of online storage, 3.3 MB per second average transfer rate, 90 milliseconds average seek time, 29 milliseconds average latency and dual read/write heads. The company also announced availability of its Hexadisc minilibrary that adds five near-line disks in a removable cartridge for a total system capacity of 96 GB.
