  • Part III: Solutions – Thursday, Nov. 17 from 7:30 – 9:00 am. (continental breakfast included) presentation to expert panel and feedback.

Increase your capabilities to solve KM and intranet related business problems by participating in an innovative case-based problem solving workshop that runs throughout the KM World Conference.

This executive development opportunity:
• Addresses real-life business challenges
• Utilizes the expertise of thought-leaders and practitioners
• Applies successful KM principles and approaches
• Challenges teams of peers to collaborate on finding innovative solutions.

Participants begin with a half-day session on Monday to:
• Set the framework and create teams
• Narrow the issues and clarify the task
• Identify supporting resources from the rich knowledge base found at the Conference
• Map out an approach to develop a solution.

Using the Conference sessions and exhibits as a resource to inform their solution design, teams will work independently throughout the rest of the conference. Then, the teams get back together to present their approaches to an expert panel for feedback and suggestions on Thursday night (7:30 – 9:00).

Prior to the Conference, participants will be polled to identify the possible range of KM and/or Intranet challenges to be addressed in the workshop. Facilitators will organize the infrastructure and support the teams throughout this 4-day workshop. This workshop requires critical thinking, collaboration, and a real desire to complete a mission.

Schedule:

Preconference reflection:
A template will be emailed to all registered participant to use for identifying the components of a problem or issue confronting the participant’s organization. Participants are requested to email the outline in advance to the workshop facilitators or to bring the completed template to the first session for discussion by the group in choosing the problem for which they will design a solution approach.

Monday, November 14 (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)
Overview of problem-solving strategies: frameworks, successful approaches, strategy development discussed. Participant challenges reviewed and team challenge chosen. Team problem-solving approach/work plan outlined.

To be determined. Flexible scheduling based on team-designed work plan.
Team time to work through the problem in preparation for their solution presentation. Optional “check in” with facilitators is available if a team requests input on their progress and any arising issues or challenges.

Thursday, November 17 (7:30 – 9:00 am)
Team solution presentation and expert panel feedback (continental breakfast included).

Results-driven approach:
It’s all about YOU! Do you have a project or KM challenge that would benefit from peer and expert input?
