Speaking in tongues: Foreign language KM Technologies

Recently, I was listening to a show on NPR about the current U.S. reconstruction efforts in Iraq and all the problems they’ve had, ranging from understanding the language to finding locations on a map. Sensible Sourcing for Government Agencies

To many government agencies, documents and records act as currency. Government agencies are always under financial scrutiny and the management of that currency has become laden with expensive and time-consuming challenges. Preparation for on-the-spot audit projects can be incredibly time- consuming. Agencies handling citizens’ financial and healthcare information are subject to FACTA (Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations protecting privacy and accessibility, as well as Sunshine laws in some states... The Knowledge Sharing Challenge

The Triune Group (Triune) has developed and continues to implement a KM methodology and solution-set for the United States Air Force (USAF). Triune has sustained the Air Force’s Knowledge Now (AFKN) program since 1999. The Air Force’s need to bring together internal enterprise collaboration with external Department of Defense (DoD) stakeholders has grown exponentially: 1,300 members in April, 2002; 16,500 members in April, 2004; and 167,000 members in April, 2007... Who decided THAT would be a good policy? Oh wait...that’s just a Thursday on CSPAN. If anything, government—most of the time—is WAY better at providing answers, supporting evidence and documentation for its actions than business. Unless you’re the current-as-of-this-writing Attorney General... then not so much (Ouch...I will refrain from flagrant political commentary from here on, I promise)... Posted May 30, 2007
