ZD Files for IPO
Ziff-Davis (New York), the technology media giant, has filed for an initial public offering of $460 million of common stock. The publicly traded company will consist of existing ZD publishing and ZDNet Web site, the ZD COMDEX and Forums trade show and conference business, and various training, consulting and market research ventures. In connection with the IPO, ZD will refinance $1.5 billion of its intercompany debt in the public debt and bank markets. The application is for the New York Stock Exchange.
