Xyvision unveils Content@XML

Xyvision, which develops XML content management and publishing software, announces a new version of its content management software. This offering, known as Content@XML is designed for the growing number of organizations creating XML content for re-use in the high tech, financial, product manufacturing and publishing industries. This new software is said to provide organizations with editorial, reuse, workflow, assembly and delivery capabilities for XML and other data types.

Content@ XML enables the creation of single-source repositories to meet the demand for content re-use, staging of content collections for Web delivery and automation of traditional document publishing. The package enables organizations to create and capture information assets for re-use across a broad range of deliverables. Typical users of Content@XML create marketing materials, technical manuals, product documentation, and financial publications in an automated manner.

The solution manages structured XML and SGML source data at varying levels of granularity from individual objects to entire collections of content. It also provides data management support for graphics, text, audio and visual content. It offers extensive project-centric workflow and supports metadata from a wide variety of sources. With popular XML editing tools and, via its reuse and assembly capabilities, Content@XML compliments Web content delivery applications and application server products.

Content@XML allows organizations to migrate to an XML environment while leveraging their existing desktop applications. The scalable content management offering is reported to be a powerful entry-level content and document management application that manages source data in a structured environment while providing users the ability to continue using common desktop applications such as Microsoft Word. It is said to manage document objects or entire files, while providing a secure and flexible workflow environment.
