Xionics acquires Seaport Imaging

Xionics Document Technologies (Burlington, MA, http://www.xionics.com) today announced its acquisition of Seaport Imaging (San Jose, CA, http://www.seaportimaging.com) for a performance-related cash sum of $2.2 million. Seaport will become part of Xionics' Digital Document Products Division. The purchase adds Seaport's image processing technology to Xionics' PeripheralPower line of connectivity and accessory products for the OEM and desktop markets. "This acquisition joins two technology leaders in the rapidly growing field of digital document processing," said Xionics chairman and CEO Bob Gilkes. "The technologies of Seaport and Xionics complement each other perfectly in our quest to seamlessly integrate the power of intelligent peripherals into the user's desktop environment."
