Workgroup Technology Names New CEO
Effective immediately, president and COO John McDonough is the new CEO of Workgroup Technology (Lexington, MA). Outgoing CEO James Carney, who founded the company in 1992, has resigned to start a new company. Part of his severance package ($350,000) will be reflected as a one-time charge in Workgroup's fiscal fourth quarter. Carney will continue as chairman of the board, and will continue to work through an unspecified transition period. McDonough has served as Workgroup's president and COO since June 1997, when he was promoted from his position as senior VP of operations.
