Witron Provides WMS Solutions for Allegiance Healthcare

Allegiance Healthcare Corporation, a McGaw, IL-based provider of healthcare products and cost-management services, is implementing a warehouse management system from Witron (Rolling Meadows, IL). Witron's IMS warehouse management system will coordinate Allegiance's material flow functions, from inbound to dispatch, including "optimal next order" procedures for retrieval, replenishment and empty pallet or bin handling. The system will also provide stock management and automated picking functions through barcoding and RF scanning systems. The system will be implemented at over 30 Allegiance facilities across the country by the end of this year. The system, already being used at the company's Detroit facilities, "has proven to be very effective," according to Dan Sobeck, VP of Distribution Technology at Allegiance. "The system has improved our efficiency and service." The system's integration with the SAP R/3 ERP system also being installed at Allegiance helped seal the deal. "IMS seamlessly integrates with R/3 software and significantly expands upon the WMS functions that R/3 software provides," said Witron president Kevin Dougherty.
