“Whereas, the party of the first part . . .”

I-many and Accenture have formed an alliance to deliver contract management goods and services to, initially, pharmaceutical and consumer goods manufacturers. The companies hope to expand to industries with similar needs, such as chemicals and electronics.

I-many explains its trade relationship management technology, Contract Administration and Reporting System (CARS), helps manufacturers, distributors, retailers, group purchasing organizations and other supply chain participants to automate the purchasing contract process. The company says CARS allows trading partners to automatically administer business functions, such as contract creation, contract pricing, complex rebate and chargeback processes, verification of trading partner eligibility and monitoring contract performance and compliance.

Under the agreement:

  • Accenture will become the preferred business integration provider for CARS;

  • a team of Accenture professionals will be trained to implement I-many’s contract management software applications;

  • I-many will become Accenture’s preferred automated contract management solution provider; and

  • if mutually established performance objectives are met, Accenture has the opportunity to purchase equity in I-many.
