Watermark used by Iowa public defenders

) Watermark software is streamlining business processes for the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals Fiscal Services Bureau. The bureau implemented the document imaging Windows NT-based software to handle the records management and accounting processes of the Iowa State Public Defender's office, which processed more than 57,000 cases, amounting to 30,000 claims, during the last fiscal-year.

Using Watermark's software and a Compaq server, the bureau scans claim documents, stores the images and routes the claim request electronically for review and processing. Data entry time has been reduced by 60% and turn-around time for historical claims drops from three weeks to minutes.
