In an effort to keep and increase certification levels of its employees, Unisys has agreed to work with computer-based training tool provider CBT Systems.

Under the $25 million agreement, CBT Systems will manage certification programs for Unisys University, the employee training division of Unisys Corp., teaching employees how to use technologies from Microsoft, Cisco, Lotus and Novell. CBT will also resell third-party instructor-led training courses to Unisys.

A major systems integrator and service provider, Unisys has significant training needs, some of which can be addressed by CBT's interactive education software.

"As a recognized leader in the use of technology to improve educational outcomes, Unisys was the perfect partner with whom to develop the opportunity," said Gregory M. Priest, CBT Systems' president and CEO. "We believe that Unisys and CBT Systems have created a model that redefines how learning is provided in many major enterprises around the world.
