Umax and Caere Ink OEM Agreement
Umax (Fremont, CA) and Caere (Los Gatos, CA) have signed a two-year OEM agreement whereby Umax will bundle Caere's OmniPage Limited Edition OCR software with its Windows- and MacIntosh-based flatbed scanners. "OCR is an important technology for our users," said Umax senior marketing director John Roman. "The combination of our leading technologies provides apotent scanning solution for them." From Caere's point of view, Umax offers excellent products and a strong market position, according to Caere senior VP Larry Lunetta.
