Tympani Releases New Atlas Server

Tympani Development (Sunnyvale, CA) has unveiled Version 2.0 of its Atlas server, billed as an "instant intranet." This new version is the first commercial release of Atlas, which was originally sold directly to a handful of customers in October. Atlas allows users to create individual Web pages for posting data, running Web search, retrieval and filtering agents, and sharing or publishing data by using Verity

's (Sunnyvale, CA) Search 97 technology. Atlas stores and classifies documents with meta data for later searches with built-in Versant (Fremont, CA) object technology database. Atlas is platform-independent, and is accessible through a standard Java-enabled Web browser. Starting price is $12,500 for a 250 seat installation.
