Treev launches Treev2000 document management suite

Treev has released a new version of its document management software with upgraded architecture and adherence to Microsoft standards, but the release may not propel Treev beyond the competition.

Treev2000 has three engines for capturing, storing and retrieving data, document images or any file type. A fourth engine stores business rules for routing the files through a workflow. Pricing for the core engines is $20,000 each, but for a short introductory period the engines are available for the cost of one (if you also buy the connectors).

Despite the upgraded features, Treev2000 still faces stiff competition in an established, consolidating marketplace, warns the Delphi Group.

Because many veteran vendors like FileNet and Keyfile also provide component-based integrated EDMS solutions, "it will be a challenge for TREEV to escape a market label as 'old news,' according to Delphi
