Towers Perrin unit benefits from IDM

Using FileNet's Panagon suite of integrated document management (IDM) software, global management consultancy Towers Perrin plans to enhance line-of-business operations and improve customer service.

Towers Perrin is one of the world's largest management and human resource consulting firms, with more than 7,500 employees and a billion dollars in annual revenue. Towers Perrin's Benefits Administration Services (BAS) business unit is one of its fastest-growing divisions, and BAS employees are dealing with increasing amounts of customer information. "We needed an IDM solution with the scaleability and Web deployment capabilities to serve as our strategic information backbone for this fast-growing business line," said Toni Parcilio, BAS systems development imaging manager.

With help from FileNet partner Software Consulting Group, Towers Perrin's Benefits Administration Services (BAS) business unit is one of its fastest-growing divisions, and the company wanted to make sure the infrastructure could handle workers' and customers' demands. Using Panagon software, BAS client team members will be able to quickly locate and retrieve documents, including 401(k), health and welfare documents, participant correspondence and pension calculations. Based on HP-UX and Oracle RDBMS, the system includes high-speed duplex document scanning, bar coding, electronic forms, fax and print functionality as well as integration with COLD (computer output to laser disk) applications. Future plans include the deployment of FileNet's Visual WorkFlo to streamline routing of in-bound and out-bound correspondence and the addition of remote sites to Towers Perrin's network.

Parcilio believes that the investment addresses the BAS division's needs as it grows and prospers. "We are confident this decision will reap benefits for our clients' dynamic, growing benefits administration needs.
