To Infinos . . . and beyond

Cerebyte, which developed the Infinos intellectual capital management (ICM) software applications, has formed an alliance with a number of professional service vendors that will privately label and market the Infinos system to their clients. More that 100 companies currently use Infinos to collect and automate their best practices and institutional knowledge to develop repeatable business processes.

According to Brian McDonough, senior analyst of knowledge management software at IDC, the market for knowledge management access software, including ICM, is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 47% to $3.4 billion in 2004 from $500 million in 1999. McDonough explains, “The professional services industry has a higher adoption rate for knowledge management software than other industries because it has one of the highest concentrations of knowledge workers and its capacity is constrained by time and human resources. ICM software addresses these constraints."

Cerebyte's new alliances are with the Biothink division of Biosciences, CoreMedia and Intell-A-Pro.

Biothink provides independent scientific management and knowledge procurement tools for outsourced services in the biosciences. CoreMedia Training Solutions, a video-based safety training company, has adapted its expertise into a branded commercial product that helps its clients build positive safety cultures. Intell-A-Pro provides automated process consulting services to customers that want an Internet presence.
