The power of content

Through the acquisition of Open Market and Eprise, Sagemaker and RoweCom as well as certain assets of Northern Light, Divine further strengthens its position in the enterprise content management market with the introduction of two new products: Content Server (CS) 4.0 and Participant Server 4.0 (PS).

Divine explains that Content Server includes the following features:

CS Desktop allows users to author content in Microsoft Word, dictate the structure of the document and have this content automatically formatted for appropriate display in Web, wireless and XML formats.

CS InSite Editor permits non-technical editors to edit content as they browse a site and have those changes take effect everywhere that content is used.

Power user enhancements offer frequent contributors the ability to create saved searches for common queries, have one-click access to common content management tasks, and track content use during an editing session or across multiple sessions.

Automated publishing ensures all content dependencies are checked to prevent broken links and enhance the brand.

Workflow enhancements includes timers, assignment delegations, automated actions, reporting and visualization.

Multiple language support from a single infrastructure gives departments local control over contribution, workflow, site navigation and behavior.

Improved graphical site tree gives users rapid access to pertinent information and allows administrators to modify the tree on a role-by-role basis.

Content Manager 4.0 runs natively on Java2 Enterprise Edition application servers such as BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere and Sun Microsystems iPlanet.

Features of Participant Server 4.0 include:

  • integration with Macromedia Dreamweaver;

  • PowerCode elements, which give Web developers the ability to build reusable programming components in VBScript or Java that integrate with legacy and Web applications;

  • enhanced Integration with Microsoft Word; and

  • discussion groups.
