Texaco Selects Fulcrum KM Software

Global energy company Texaco has purchased

Fulcrum's (Ottawa, Ontario) Knowledge Network to serve as the foundation of its enterprise knowledge management applications. Texaco will deploy the system to over 20,000 users in its more than 150 locations worldwide. Texaco will also incorporate Fulcrum's Proactive Agent Service to help users gather and analyze new and updated information matching a defined set of criteria. "The need to share information across an organization as large and dispersed as Texaco is very strong,'' said Frank Lankford, senior technology leader at Texaco, adding that the installation will help Texaco to "tap into all of our information resources." The system will allow users to access information in Texaco's various data repositories, including Microsoft (Redmond, WA) Exchange, Lotus (Cambridge, MA) Notes, Oracle (Redwood Shores, CA) databases and Texaco's currentintranet Web server.
