Tech Data to Distribute New Eastman Software Wares

Eastman Software (Billerica, MA) has officially announced a distribution agreement with Tech Data (Clearwater, FL) to offer Eastman Software's line of collaborative work management solutions for the Microsoft Exchange platform. The deal came about in part because of Eastman's new WFX and DMX products for Microsoft Exchange, which were unveiled last fall and started shipping at the end of January. "This technology required us to rethink our distribution model," said Eastman Software marketing VP Michael Loria. The deal with Tech Data represents Eastman's first shot at a two-tiered distribution model for its document management products. Eastman chose Tech Data because of their strong VAR channel and background with Exchange solutions. "Resellers are faced with fierce end-user demand for knowledge management solutions," said Bob Larrivee, manager of Tech Data's advanced technologies group. "The timing couldn't be better."
