Teaming up for electronic catalogs

Citing the significant growth and complexity of the electronic catalog market, the two companies have forged an agreement that allows the native integration of Mercado Software's IntuiFind search engine into BroadVision’s suite of One-To-One e-business applications.

Mercado Software reports IntuiFind was built specifically to search content-rich electronic catalogs and allows buyers to locate exactly what they’re looking for regardless of spelling, terminology or wording. The software incorporates more than 50 linguistic knowledge banks and uses an in-depth understanding of underlying database structure to support free-text, parametric and categorical searches, the company explains.

This joint solution takes into account purchase history and personal preference, creating search results that lead buyers immediately to products they are trying to find. In this way, the companies claim, businesses deploying IntuiFind on BroadVision’s suite of applications can leverage search to improve sales and profitability while improving customer relations.
