Tackling taxonomies

Mohomine and Wordmap have announced a technology partnership and the launch of a integrated solution for classification and enterprise taxonomy management. The new offering combines Wordmap's Taxonomy Management System and Mohomine MohoClassifier.

Wordmap says its system allows organizations to tag content effectively by storing consistent metadata terms. Further, says Wordmap, the system powers navigation interfaces with a unique security layer that allows personalized navigation views to be served to multiple users and groups. Multiple language versions of taxonomies are supported.

Mohomine's MohoClassifier is an autocategorization solution built on what it calls "learn-by-example"/machine learning technology. The company claims its language-independent algorithms provide exceptional levels of accuracy and performance and can be deployed and modified in a fraction of the time required by competing systems.
