Syncplicity Introduces SyncDrive for Fast Access to Company Files

Syncplicity, which provides a hybrid enterprise file sync and share and mobile collaboration solution, has added a new feature that provides users with access to the company files that they are authorized to see, on any device, without syncing the files locally.

The new feature called SyncDrive gives users real-time, secure access to enterprise data sources such as migrated network drives, group file shares and home directories without regard to folder size or the need to access the company network through a VPN.

According to the vendor the new capability is significant because it will help users deal with large volumes of data across the enterprise. As companies remove data silos, have greater access to corporate information, yet connecting to this data is usually complicated and cumbersome. SyncDrive is targeted at removing these hurdles by providing users with access to files through their desktop or other device regardless of the size of the folders being accessed. Users can also selectively sync their frequently used files and folders locally.

SyncDrive, in combination with Syncplicity's DataHub, is directed at helping organizations to reduce their IT expense while supporting their users with access to all their data on any device, said Jon Huberman, CEO of Syncplicity.   SyncDrive is currently in beta and will be generally available later this fall.
