Sublime collaboration

Divine has released a new version of its collaboration solution, MindAlign 2002, which it says provides a real-time, persistent channel for business communication. The company claims MindAlign enables dynamic collaboration across the enterprise as well as with customers and key business partners, resulting in faster, more informed decision-making, more responsive customer service and improved partner and vendor relationships.

MindAlign enables instant one-to-one communication, Divine adds, but also facilitates group collaboration though its unique channels-based technology that allows users to quickly create new persistent channels to support ongoing discussions around projects or topics.

Through the new Web client, customers can embed the MindAlign HTML interface directly into existing portals or provide access via a PDA. Further, says the company, as part of the Divine Portal Drivers solution program, it has created portlets that allow users to access MindAlign from within the leading portal platforms, making it easier for companies to deploy collaboration across their extended enterprise.

Divine reports MindAlign 2002 features include:

  • presence awareness, providing a snapshot of who is online, offline or away from their desk, as well as the ability for users to create customized messages about their whereabouts;

  • rich content and data sharing, enabling users to post documents, live URLs, and alerts;

  • content filtering that alerts users when someone is communicating about a topic that is important to them.

  • instant message history, a persistent display of the most recent messages within a channel to provide users with instant context when they log in;

  • a “BackChat” search tool that lets users search archived content by date, time, key word, channel or user, enabling corporate memory to be stored and easily retrieved;

  • security and authentication that can be used with existing corporate authorities;

  • structured input and output panels, providing a means for structured information to be captured or presented within MindAlign's chat windows; and

  • SEC/NASD compliance.
