Sterling Commerce Unveils Two Vector Products

Sterling Commerce's (Dublin, OH) Banking Systems division has unveiled two new products under the Vector line, designed specifically for financial institutions. Vector:Storage is a scalable storage system that can archive up to seven years' worth of information, at anywhere from 500,000 to 40 million items per day. Vector:Storage offers savings on storage costs, and enhances fee generation capabilities. The system "saves time, improves productivity, increases income and reduces costs," according to Dr. Sydney Smith Hicks, VP of Operations and Marketing at Sterling's Banking Systems division. The Vector:Desktop product integrates mainframe applications with information contained in the client/server environment. Users access and work with mainframe information through a user-friendly GUI. Vector:Desktop claims to offer a 25% increase in the productivity of adjustment clerks through keystroke efficiency, automated adjustment process, and links to archives in Vector:Storage. The products will be officially unveiled at BAI's Transaction Processing '98

conference in New Orleans, March 24-27.
