Staffware, Candle aim for multi-app process management

Building on the growing interest in enterprise application integration (EAI), Staffware and Candle are integrating their workflow and app development products to help organizations simplify the automation of their business processes.

Combined, Staffware Global workflow and Candle's Roma application integration software will let users graphically create, deploy, monitor, and reuse business procedures across different applications and platforms, which will cut app development time and costs by up to 50%, the companies say.

"Organizations are utilizing EAI to improve business agility, speed to market, and reduce programming requirements," said Steve Craggs, VP of enterprise application integration at Candle.

Hurwitz Group VP of application strategies Dave Kelly agreed, saying the Staffware/Candle deal indicates a larger trend towards integrating infrastructure with an enterprise- and Web-based communications platform, tied together with business rules and workflows.

The Staffware/Roma integrated interface will be available by the end of this year
