Sherpa’s PDM solutions support Oracle’s database platform

Sherpa's (Milpitas, CA, http://www.sherpa.com) Product Data Management product line will now support the latest version of Oracle's (Redwood Shores, CA, http://www.oracle.com) network computing database, the two companies have announced. The SherpaWORKS PDM applications for the manufacturing market will be built on the Oracle8 database platform, including Oracle8 on NT. "Oracle8's power, flexibility and manageability gives our partners the technology they need to offer products and services that streamline their customers' computing environment," said Brian Spoutz, VP of technical sales support at Oracle. David Brazier, VP of marketing at Sherpa, applauded the venture. "Oracle8's support of all key hardware platforms will enable Sherpa to continue to provide our customers with a flexible, high-speed, and cost-effective system for running their PDM applications," he said.
