SharePoint project management from Bamboo

Bamboo Solutions has unveiled SharePoint Project Management Central 3.0 (PM Central), which, the company says, allows users to control and manage projects, programs and entire portfolios from a single workspace. Bamboo emphasizes PM Central is designed for all members of the project, not just project managers.

Enhancements in PM Central 3.0 include integration points with Microsoft Project. Project managers are able to sync changes between their PM Central tasks list and the Microsoft Project plan, offering an ongoing interrelationship between SharePoint lists and Microsoft Project. PM Central will also automatically validate data imported from Microsoft Project to a SharePoint tasks list, ensuring that imported data will not represent duplicate content.

With additional built-in integration with Bamboo’s Workflow Conductor, PM Central 3.0 also includes out-of-the-box support for change management, including approval workflows for project site creation and change requests. PM Central is further said to provide data aggregation, enhanced tracking and scheduling, document management, collaboration and communication tools.
