AvePoint has unveiled DocAve Content Shield, which is designed to ensure Microsoft SharePoint 2010 deployments are compliant with regulations and internal protocols.

The company emphasizes that DocAve Content Shield is able to:

• scan and verify content prior to publishing against customizable keyword dictionaries, phrases, numbers and patterns to block, tag and define content type--or quarantine content that falls outside HIPAA, PII, ePHI and other parameters in real time;
• protect SharePoint 2010 environments against spillage, contamination and malicious code, as well as profane, discriminatory and confidential content between secure and unsecure farms;
• implement and enforce distinct governance and compliance policies with customizable content metadata tagging, content classification, quarantine and risk assessments; and
• periodically scan existing content as keyword dictionaries and regular expressions or patterns are updated.
