ScanSoft, DI and Storm Sweep Into SOHO

An agreement to bring document software programs to the SOHO market has been signed between Xerox ScanSoft (Peabody, MA), Design Intelligence (Seattle) and Storm Technology (Mountain View, CA). Storm will incorporate ScanSoft's Pagis Se and Design Intelligence's i publish desktop publishing software with its low-end SOHO scanners. Combined, the technologies will allow users to manage scanned documents and photos as well as produce professional-looking documents like newsletters, flyers and reports. The deal delivers on an ongoing commitment from the three companies to provide customers with products "that add value to their work," said Bob Preston, VP of Sales and Marketing at Storm.
