SCS Opens SCM Service Bureau

Supply Chain Solutions (Williamsville, NY), an affiliate of Intellisource

(Fairfield, CT), is now offering a Web-enabled service bureau for companies looking to increase their visibility across the supply chain. The vendor-managed- inventory (VIM) program is targeted at companies that want "the benefits of a VMI program with a much lower investment and a lower risk associated with implementation," according to COO David Janca. The service is designed primarily for companies in the pharmaceutical, manufacturing and distribution markets. Seven clients, including Pharmacia-Upjohn, Roche Laboratories, SmithKline Beecham and Escada, are already using the program. The service has a one-time installation fee and uses a transaction-based pricing format. Consulting, implementation, operational expertise, education and training services are also available.
