Rx for document security

Saflink reports it is partnering with Documentum to develop secure Web top components targeted at meeting the security needs of the pharmaceutical industry.

Saflink intends to develop Documentum Webtop components through its SAFauthenticator software development kit to add a secure authentication framework (SAF) to Documentum's enterprise applications. Saflink explains the framework is designed to guarantee the identity of a person participating in the creation and management of critical business documents and to provide the level of irrefutable identification required in many highly regulated industries.

Once in place, Saflinkā€™s solution is said to simplify and strengthen system logon procedures by replacing a user's password with a unique individual characteristic, such as a fingerprint or iris scan.

In other Saflink news, the company reports it has signed a definitive merger agreement with SSP-Litronic, a provider of secure identity management and information assurance products. As approved by the boards of directors of each company, the merger calls for each share of SSP-Litronic common stock to be exchanged for 0.60 shares of Saflink common stock.
