Rosetta taps IBM’s Ryan for professional services unit

Advancing its product data imaging solutions into new markets, PDM developer Rosetta Technologies (Beaverton, OR,

http://www.preview.com) has introduced a professional services business. Headed by James Ryan, the company's newly appointed VP of business development, the new service business will guide process industries implementing PDM systems.

Ryan comes to Rosetta from IBM where he managed a team responsible for the development and marketing of IBM's product data management (PDM) solutions.

"Jim has been instrumental in establishing IBM as an industry leader in PDM," said Michael Barry, president of Rosetta. "His vast experience in sophisticated information systems will be an invaluable asset to help our customers propel the deployment of their product data imaging systems."

Ken Vartanian, VP and co-founder of Rosetta, said the goal of the business services unit is "to help companies understand that if you image-enable your enterprise, you speed implementation (of a PDM system). He further stated, "If you look at Rosetta today and nine months from now, you'll witness a transformation from a product organization to a solution provider," Vartanian said.
