Red Brick Data Warehouse Software in Final Beta

Red Brick Systems (Los Gatos, CA) has announced that Version 5.1 of its Red Brick Warehouse data warehousing software is now in final beta testing. The software's new features include VISTA, a server integrated solution for computing and managing aggregates, a new GUI administration tool, advanced query and index optimizations, and a backup and recovery system. The reduction in administration time is a real benefit as we move to more advanced data warehouse development," said Mark Torres, project leader at BellSouth Telecommunications

(Atlanta) which currently uses Red Brick warehousing software. Pricing for the system will be similar to previous versions, according to the company. The UNIX-based version of Red Brick Warehouse Version 5.1 is scheduled for shipment in thirty days; a Windows NT version will be released later this year.
