Recognition technology toolkit aimed at channel

Caere recently released a recognition technology toolkit that includes everything except the kitchen sink.

Caere's Developer Kit 2000 includes nine recognition engines for capturing document-based information: four flavors of OCR (machine print), two ICR (handprint), OMR (checkmark), MICR and barcode technologies. ActiveX or C interfaces aid document processing, and a 32-bit open API architecture lets developers integrate other image capture technologies.

Caere's Developer Kit 2000 is available now; pricing ranges from $2,495 to $5,495. A toolbox for adding other controls and capabilities costs $1,495
