Reach out and greet some e-mail

NewsEdge throws another hat in the content ring with ReachOut Mail, a new service for corporate intranets, extranets and public Web sites. ReachOut Mail is a daily e-mail news message of industry-specific headlines, filtered by NewsEdge's patented news refinery process and delivered to subscribers' e-mail boxes. The messages contain news headlines and a link to the full story on the corporate Web site and are sent only to those subscribers who have registered for it.

NewEdge claims the service enables companies to offer their employees, customers and partners a privately branded means of instantly accessing the most relevant industry news for better business decision making. The r-mail service drives users directly to corporate Web sites, increasing site traffic and encouraging repeated interactive visits.

ReachOut Mail makes it possible for corporations to regularly supply employees, customers and partners with critical, industry-specific news content. Company Web masters set up a button that allows subscribers to select specialized NewsEdge eTopics for direct delivery to their e-mail in boxes. Users will then receive a daily e-mail, co-branded by their companies and NewsEdge, informing them of the day's relevant headlines. Upon clicking on the headline, the user is then transported directly to that story posted on the corporate site.
