R&D, rapidly

Yet2.com has launched i-4C, which has been designed to maximize research and development efficiencies. The company reports i-4C enables disparate business units within corporations to identify technologies critical to their various R&D initiatives so that they can focus spending where needed with minimal changes to existing processes.

Central to i-4C is an online version of yet2.com’s TechPak, a common internal platform for the documentation of technologies and their applications. The company says TechPak allows corporate users users in the R&D, licensing and legal communities to determine if a given technology has a potential application in their area of interest.

Yet2.com says that a key to i-4C is a search engine that personalizes functions and brings relevant expertise to users, adding that only a small percentage of existing knowledge needs to be implemented to derive benefits, the company claims. Once that critical mass of core technologies has been entered into i-4C, the information is indexed and categorized so that users can make non-intuitive technology matches through the search and find functions.

The standard i-4C package, which includes professional service, planning and rollout, training and software configuration is priced from $125,000, with a monthly license hosting fee priced from $25,000.
