Rain, snow, sleet, manual data entry

The Swiss Post, the top postal distributor in Switzerland, is embracing forms processing technology to simplify data entry and improve delivery.

The Swiss Post will roll out Top Image Systems' AFPS Pro forms processing package to its 3,500 branch offices, having completed a benchmark process in May. Each branch previously faxed up to four different types of forms every day to a central processing office.

Swiss Post's Gerard Rumo and Beat Stotzer pointed to recognition rates, integration with other engines and process control as important features of the new system, which will help streamline the organization's data entry operations and improve mass payments traffic.

This deal gives TiS a foothold in the postal vertical market, according to TiS CEO Izhak Nakar, who called it "the first in a long line of successful projects within the Swiss market.
