Quarterdeck Signs ServiceWare as Knowledge Base Provider

Quarterdeck (Marina del Rey, CA), a provider of PC network management systems, has selected ServiceWare (Oakmont, PA) to provide support management services. Under the agreement, ServiceWare will license its Knowledge-Pak support management knowledge bases to Quarterdeck for use with its REALHELP Find-A-Fix feature, a tool that provides a mechanism for locating solutions to most computing problems. Knowledge-Pak is a suite of HTML-based documents categorized into three areas (PC Diagnostic, Windows and Office 95 problems), accessible through a local search engine that runs queries against those documents. Other Knowledge-Paks to be provided to Quarterdeck include Multimedia, Office 97 and Internet Connection knowledge bases. In the end, the agreement is designed to help users "find the right answers to their problems, right now," according to John Zappa, director of product management for ServiceWare.
