Procom Unveils Backup and Recovery System

Procom (Irvine, CA) has unveiled what it calls the fastest tape backup and recovery system in the industry. The Jetstream 1000 AIT Array has a 20MB per second data transfer rate (72 GB per hour backup capability) and a capacity of 200 gigabytes. The system supports RAID level-3 data striping, and uses a Fast-Wide SCSI-2 host interface. The system also includes dual redundant power supplies, and has rackmount and desktop modules for scalability. The system sells for $45,000 MSRP.
