Procom Acquires German Distributor
Procom (Irvine, CA) has acquired MegaByte Computerhandels AG, a German distributor of storage and networking products. MegaByte distributes RAID, storage management software, disk and CD-ROM arrays and servers, and tape arrays and libraries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The deal will boost Procom's international revenue and experience in the European market. MegaByte, which already distributes Procom's network storage products, will be able to expand its channels into a more global market. Procom president and CEO Alex Ramjoo described the deal as "very synergistic" for both companies. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
