Powering up ClearStudio

ClearForest has integrated Inxight's multi-lingual language processing software engine, LinguistX Platform, into ClearStudio, which enables users to adapt ClearForest technology to specific vertical markets. The company reports its mission is to allow customers to extract and deliver knowledge "snapshots" from structured and unstructured information repositories and allow them to gain insight in business intelligence.

ClearForest will license Inxight's linguistic technology in order to focus on developing its core Rulebook technology. A Rulebook contains the set of instructions describing specific linguistic patterns relevant to a particular vertical market or horizontal discipline and tells the knowledge extraction engine what concepts and relationships to retrieve from the text documents.

Says Ian Hersey, Inxight's VP of linguistic products, "Inxight's LinguistX Platform easily identifies root word forms in context, parts of speech and multi-word concepts. These advanced processing capabilities provide the base for more accurate applications."

In addition to providing ClearForest with technology, Inxight will also offer sales and technical support. As part of the corporate agreement, Inxight and ClearForest will participate in joint marketing projects on an ongoing basis.
