PowerScan Unveils NT Image Capture Software

Star Technologies (Sterling, VA) subsidiary PowerScan

(Potomac, MD) has unveiled a Windows NT version of its input capture software. PowerScan Version 4.2 supports all major scanner manufacturers, including the new M-Drive film scanners from Fuji (Elmsford, NY). A 32-bit NT version of PowerScan's StageWorks post-scan processing software is also in the development phase. "Windows NT is fast becoming the platform of choice," said Robert Kircher, PowerScan's director of product development. The upgrade gives service bureaus and resellers more reason to move customers towards the NT platform. For Boyle Associates, a Concord, NH-based reseller for Kodak (Rochester, NY), the switch to NT means more speed and power for input capture and processing. And, as Boyle VP Kenneth Bozler says, "in the service bureau industry, faster is always better." PowerScan Version 4.2 for Windows NT is scheduled to be released in April, and is being demonstrated today at Wood Associates' (Boulder Creek, CA) Seminar Series in Seattle.
