Platinum Adds Features to OLAP App

A new and improved trio of OLAP applications has been unveiled by Platinum Technology (Oakbrook Terrace, IL). The upgraded version of InfoBeacon includes enhanced administration functions, Web browser accessibility, enhanced SQL generation for improved database performance, and the ability to capture statistics based on users' requirements. InfoReports Version 3.2 now offers a new network connection for enhanced security, multi-level HTML frame generation, and post-conversion processing. Forest & Trees Version 5.0 includes 32-bit functionality, simplified application logic, enhanced support for enterprise deployment, and the ability to develop applications that automatically invoke other applications, for distributed processing and promoting component-based development practices. Pricing for InfoBeacon Version 4.0, which supports Windows 95 and NT, major UNIX systems, and leading database management systems, starts at $65,000, plus $45,000 for required implementation consulting. InfoReports Version 3.2 is available for $695 for the client version, and $10,000 for the server version. Forest & Trees Version 3.2, available by the end of Q1 '98, costs $995 for the developer edition and $295 for each run-time license.
