PeopleSoft adds management for e-biz future

Top-tier ERP vendor PeopleSoft has tabbed former OneTouch CEO Craig Conway to lead the company's charge towards a Net-based future.

As president and COO, Conway will oversee all PeopleSoft business operations including sales and marketing, services, customer support, R&D, finance and administration. Prior to OneTouch, he was president and CEO of TGV Software, an early developer of IP network protocols and applications (now owned by Cisco), and spent eight years as an executive VP at Oracle.

Conway's experience in enterprise software and Internet solutions is "the ideal combination for taking PeopleSoft to the next level," said PeopleSoft CEO Dave Duffield.

The appointment marks a time of change for ERP companies as they attempt to shift their product lines to the Internet. The PeopleSoft Business Network, a portal-based network of transaction, analytics and business applications and content, was first released in November. Earlier this month SAP took the wraps off its own B2B portal, "MySAP," which should be available by the third quarter of this year.
