Pacific Image unveils two new scanners

) has introduced the Personal ScanAce 1230 and the Professional ScanAce 1236 scanners. The 1230 has 30-bit capabilities with a 10-bit grayscale, while the 1236 offers 36-bit capabilities and a 12-bit grayscale. Both offer 600 x 1200 optical resolution, a software-enhanced resolution of 9600 x 9600, and come equipped with Xerox’s TextBridge, Pacific Image’s Cyberview, and a to-be-announced image editing program. Prices are $299 for the ScanAce 1230 with SCSI ($199 for parallel port) and $499 for the ScanAce 1236.
