Overland Data and TeraStor Ink Agreement

Overland Data (San Diego) and TeraStor

(San Jose) have agreed to combine TeraStor's storage products with Overland Data's tape libraries. The agreement calls for TeraStor's Near Field Recording (NFR) technology to be incorporated in Overland Data's line of scalable storage libraries. The deal is designed to bring random access storage to the DLT storage library marketplace, according to Overland Data VP Steve Richardson. "The focus of the LibraryXpress architecture has always been on modular scalability," he said. "The concept of a TeraStor/DLT coupling in future LibraryXpress offerings is an exciting prospect for Overland Data and our customers." The deal makes Overland Data "an ideal partner to bring TeraStor technology to the library environment and open a new world of storage applications," offered TeraStor VP Skip Kilsdonk.
