Inxight Software has announced Categorizer, which the company says provides publishers and information aggregators with a method for classifying unstructured information into taxonomies, enabling them to deliver information to customers while reducing manual labor costs. Inxight adds it’s targeting enterprise and government organizations needing a solution for classifying documents for delivery to appropriate users. Inxight Categorizer 3.0 features a Web application for managing multiple taxonomy models from any location and the integration of Categorizer Executive, an application that provides a graphical user interface for creating and maintaining training sets.

Inxight reports Categorizer 3.0:

  • incorporates Inxight's patented linguistic technology to understand the context of documents written in 12 languages;

  • analyzes entire documents to ensure relevant context and uses natural language processing and machine learning techniques;

  • manages thousands of categories and millions of documents;

  • adapts to different document writing styles; and

  • supports over 70 common word processing file formats including HTML, PDF, Microsoft Office documents, e-mail, Lotus Notes and text documents.

Categorizer 3.0 also supports a broad range of operating system platforms including Microsoft Windows NT and 2000, Sun Solaris 2.6 and 2.7 and Red Hat Linux 7.2 and has the ability to access any database that supports XML-based queries, such as Oracle, Sybase and Microsoft SQL Server database management systems.
