Novasoft unveils content server

Novasoft has released a content search add-on to its Novation document management software.

The Novation Secure Content Server allows users, based on their authorization rights, to search for, view, and share documents stored in the Novation document vault. Users can query a variety of terms, dates, or other user-defined attributes. The product can be customized with standard HTML authoring tools and installed in multiple configurations, including single centralized or multiple-remote sites. It is licensed on a server-basis for 50 or more users.

IDC senior analyst Amie White says the content server provides a secure portal to a company's intellectual assets across the enterprise. "Its strength is in helping companies to efficiently utilize their knowledge assets over their intranets and extranets."

Chemical manufacturer Elf Atochem is facilitating its production process by delivering accurate information to specific employees using the Novation content server, according to EDMS Project Manager Frank Smith. "With just a Web browser users across the enterprise have a window into our material safety data sheets and standard operating procedures," he said
